ENT Healthcare is your premier destination for specialized ear, nose, and throat medical services in
Harare. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care for both
adults and children.
Adenoids are small patches of tissue sitting high in the
throat, just behind the nose. They can become enlarged
or chronically infected, leading to breathing issues,
chronic snoring, or sleep apnea in children. An
adenoidectomy is recommended when they severely
interfere with breathing or cause recurrent middle ear
infections.
Recovery times vary by patient. Generally, children
recover from an Adenoidectomy within 3 to 5 days. A
Tonsillectomy takes slightly longer, typically requiring
10 to 14 days for a full recovery. We provide a
comprehensive post-operative care and pain management
plan for every patient.
While procedures can be performed on infants if there is
a severe, life-threatening breathing obstruction,
tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies are most commonly
and safely performed on children between the ages of 3
and 7. Our paediatric specialists will thoroughly
evaluate your child to determine the safest timing.
Most routine ENT surgeries are day-case procedures. The
actual surgery for a tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy
typically takes only 30 to 45 minutes. However, patients
will spend a few hours in the clinic for observation
during the initial anesthetic recovery phase before
being discharged.
ENT Healthcare accepts most major Zimbabwean medical
aids, including Cimas, PSMAS, First Mutual Health, and
others. We recommend calling our reception at

shortfall details.
Sinus infections (sinusitis) are often caused by
viruses, bacteria, nasal polyps, or severe allergies
that block the nasal passages. You can help prevent them
by managing allergies proactively, practicing good
hygiene, avoiding smoke, and using a humidifier during
the dry Zimbabwean winter months.
You should book a consultation if you experience
persistent hearing loss, lumps, bumps in your head, neck, face, chronic sinus pain, ringing in
the ears (tinnitus), recurring sore throats, persistent
voice changes, or if your child exhibits chronic ear
infections, snoring, or speech delays.
